Yeh Hai Mohobbatein: One of the Most Rated Shows on Star Plus

       An Indian soap opera on Star Plus, Yeh Hai Mohobbatein airs from Monday to Friday to make Indian evenings more entertaining. Produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Teleflims, the serial is partially based on a novel “Custody” by Manju Kaupur. The show follows a love story between a Punjabi boy Raman Bhalla and a Tamil girl Ishita Iyer. Raman and Ishita are playing as the leading pair of the show.

        Ishita is barren and can’t conceive a child. She gets emotionally attached with Raman’s daughter Ruhi. Raman has divorced his wife Shagun, who now lives with her boyfriend Ashok. Shagun has two children with Raman: Ruhi and Aditya. Ruhi lives with her father Raman, while Aditya lives with Shagun and Ashok. Due to circumstances, Raman weds Ishita. The show has got immense popularity in India, and is currently rated as one of the top shows on Star Plus. Targeted towards family audience and young lovers, the show took a 7-year leap in April 2016.

       Shagun has an affair with Ashok, a corrupt sexual predator. Six months after Ruhi’s birth, Raman detects Ashok and Shagun’s affair and then he divorces his wife Shagun. Ishita Iyer happens to be Raman’s neighbor. She is sterile and forms and emotional bond with Raman’s daughter Ruhi. When Shagun attempts to regain Ruhi’s custody, Raman marries Ishita to prevent that from happening.

       Over the time Raman and Ishita fall in love with each other. After Raman and Ishita win Aditya’s custody, he comes to live with Bhalla family. Aditya despises Ishita in the beginning, but gradually he accepts her as his mother. Circumstances cause Raman and Ishita to part their ways. However, after 7 years, the two meet again and story takes a positive turn. There are misunderstandings between them, but are fighting to remarry.
